This workbook shows you how "Yeshua" became modified as it passed through Greek and Latin into English, and how the verbal roots of this Hebrew name, meaning "to save" are echoed throughout the TaNaCH (Hebrew Old Testament) and the B'rit Chadashah (New Testament). This workbook makes an excellent sequel to Messiah's Alphabet Book 1 and Biblical Greek Book 1 (by the same authors) which teach the Hebrew and Greek alphabets to beginners. However, even if you have zero knowledge of Hebrew or Greek, you can easily understand this book. Its teaching method is clear and simple (with all pronunciations and definitions provided) so that any English speaker will have no trouble following the lessons. Each lesson has a unique focus. In one lesson the reader is shown how the name "Yeshua" changed after being translated from language to language. Here, the Hebrew root letters of the name are analyzed to expose their meanings. In another lesson, the reader is shown all the Old Testament Hebrew mentions of the name Yeshua (Jesus). The lesson explains how the roles these men played in history are symbolic of the Messiah. In later lessons, New Testament passages concerning the name of Jesus are studied for additional insight into the meaning of Yeshua. Any relevant Greek verbs in these contexts are explored. Cartoons, enlarged graphics and short stories - coupled with a casual, friendly teaching style - keep the lessons simple, lighthearted and fun.
