THE BOOK GIVES A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF 8086 microprocessor along with glimpses of 8088, 80186 and 80188 microprocessors. The various peripheral controllers for 8086/88 are also discussed. There is a recap at the end of each section, which summarizes the points discussed in the section. Exercises are given at the end of each chapter. Long questions, objective questions and oral questions along with the answers are also included at the end of each chapter. KEY FEATURES The book focuses on the three main aspects of the study of microprocessors architecture, programming and system design. The programs are given alongside the related theory for the convenience of the readers. The programs will help the students to prepare for the practical examination. Both DOS-based programs as well as kit programs are given. Algorithms and flowcharts are given before DOS-based programs for easy understanding of the program logic. Comments are written at appropriate places in the programs. About the Author SWAPNEEL CHANDRAKANT MHATRE passed B. E. (Computer Engineering) from Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Mumbai in June 2000 and M. E. (Computer Engineering) from Government College of Engineering, Pune, in December 2001. He is presently Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pune. His subjects of interest are Microprocessors, Computer Organization, Advanced Computer Architecture and VLSI.
