De la longue odyssée d'Ulysse au Cahier d'Aimé Césaire, sans oublier l'énigmatique retour de Dany Laferrière, le déplacement des écrivains et des personnages littéraires d'un lieu d'origine à un lieu d'accueil est et a toujours été un thème phare de toute la production littéraire mondiale. De telle sorte que l'homme ou le héros romanesque est toujours, à long terme, un migrant ; un être en transit, un éternel voyageur. Aussi, la migration a-t-elle laissé ses empreintes dans l'histoire de la littérature mondiale. Perçue comme mouvement des populations d'un espace à un autre, elle n'a jamais été un phénomène isolé, puisque liée à des causes d'ordre politique, social, économique voire même climatique. D'où se développe, dans ce contexte, une littérature dite littérature migrante, littérature de l'émigration, littérature des émigrés ou littérature de l'exil .
Vu la complexité que semble évoquer aujourd'hui la migration, ne serait-t-il pas important de la replacer dans des ensembles plus larges, d'étendre le champ pour y inclure d'autres formes de mobilité, tenir compte d'autres processus ayant toutefois une ou des incidences sur le phénomène ? Parler de la migration n'évoque-t-il pas autant les diasporas que les réseaux transnationaux, les espaces frontaliers et les déplacements extérieurs qu'intérieurs ? Quel sens possède encore aujourd'hui la notion frontière au moment où l'on vit ce qu'Arnold van Gennep appelle la Mondialisation de l'Humanité
Ce numéro de Legs et Littérature entend explorer la question migratoire en vue de dégager une compréhension sur la manière dont les écrivains migrants vivent et mettent en récit leur déplacement et, à la limite, leur exil.
À propos des directeurs du numéro:
Certifiée ès Lettres Modernes de l'École Normale Supérieure, Mirline Pierre détient une maîtrise en didactique des langues de l'Université des Antilles. Elle enseigne la littérature au secondaire et est formatrice à l'Institut français en Haïti.
Ancien élève de l'École Normale Supérieure, Dieulermesson Petit Frère détient un master 2 en littératures de l'Université Clermont Auvergne et une maîtrise ès lettres de l'Université des Antilles et de la Guyane. Poète et critique littéraire, il a déjà publié deux recueils de poèmes et enseigne l'Analyse du discours à l'université de Port-au-Prince.
