About The Book

This is a collection of essays and structured thoughts on the Nigerian economy, the financial market, politics and integrated perspectives on multidimensional contemporary issues, between 1986 and 2022. The scope of my inspired write-ups is not limited to my core competent areas as a professional financial market practitioner. My multitasking nature exposed me to a wide range of issues locally and internationally which made it practically impossible to ignore the influence on my disposition to expressing views on various situations. My inclination to write as dictated by my mood and professional callings has to do with my mindset which informed the title to the book. This makes the book to be multidimensional because it contains structured thoughts and experiences that cut across various aspects of human activities.
The definition of the word mindset as a fixed mental attitude that predetermines a person's response to the interpretation of situations fits seamlessly to what I write on, and the position I took on issues over the years and my inclination. In terms of outlook and opinion on various issues, readers are bound to see a track of consistency in the style and position taken on issues in this book. It is a product of a lot of critical thinking from different perspectives. The kind of feedbacks I received from people who read my published articles encouraged me to write more which resulted to the maiden edition of Mindset which was published in 2012. My mindset is a function of upbringing, attitude, beliefs, convictions, motives and values. In essence, "mindset is everything" while attitude reflects the mindset and it is an integral of it all and not everything. Albeit, the mindset manifested in this book are issues based.
The book is in six sections with over 100 timeless articles that touched on a wide range of subjects in 70 chapters. The first part covers published views concerning my professional calling. The technical and specialized subjects in this section notwithstanding, it would be comprehensible for anyone desirable of broadening scope of knowledge with the prose manner the messages have been written. Section two of the book addresses various issues of national concern in Nigeria. Likewise section three with a special focus on Ekiti-State, my state of origin. The various letters I wrote to different print media houses in reactions to news, features, articles and editorial comments, constitute part four of the book. The fifth section of the book contains multifaceted musings on contemporary issues locally and internationally. The last part of the book is for various tributes and my recent articles between 2012 after the maiden edition was published and 2022..
My innate wish to keep every informed article I wrote for posterity was responsible for the way the book was structured. In essence, Mindset is a one-stop book. It is useful for the working class people, students at all levels, young and old. There are so many different lessons to be learnt from the book by politicians in all tiers of government. Those who like to learn from the experiences of others should find the book stimulating. The broad historical touch that a considerable part of the book has, also makes it a "must-have" book. One other unique thing about the book is the accompanying pictorial features in the book. In between the sections are sets of photographs that further buttress the substances in the book, they constitute the complementary visuals behind some of the stories and life experiences which make the book refreshing while reading through it. The book is recommended to all.
