Over a hundred poets contribute their imaginative interpretations to the growing legend of Joe the Poet, an elusive wandering bard first discovered in 2008 by editor John Roche, who won't let on where he first spied Joe, but he does have Joe's hat. Joe is a time-traveler, and also sometimes appears as Josephine or other incarnations. Some say Joe is the creator of all poems, and we're merely channeling Joe. The editor reserves judgment on this point of disputation.

John Roche is an Associate Professor of English at RIT, where he teaches creative writing and literature, and advises the literary magazine, Signatures. He is also a member of the board of the Just Poets organization, now celebrating their tenth anniversary. John earned a PhD at SUNY/Buffalo studying with poets Robert Creeley and Jack Clarke. He also holds degrees from University College Dublin, Ireland and the University of Connecticut. Three of his poetry collections, The Joe Poems (2012), Topicalities (2008) and On Conesus (2005), are available from FoothillsPublishing.com, and Road Ghosts (2011), published by theenk Books, is available from SPDBooks.org. He has also edited several anthologies and has appeared in numerous magazines, including Malpais Review, Adobe Walls, Yellow Medicine Review, Rootdrinker, House Organ, intent, Burning World, Big Bridge, FLURB, Interim, Coe Review, Gray Sparrow Journal, Cedilla, Napalm Health Spa, Jack Magazine, and The Woodstock Journal.
