The "New Tang Suit" integrates modern fashion with the essence of Eastern aesthetics, embodying the pursuit of "modernization" in Chinese attire. It also symbolically reflects the globalized context and the corresponding expression of national identity. "新唐装"融合了东方美学精神的现代时尚，蕴含着对中国服装"现代化"的追求，也极具象征性地反映了全球化的大背景和民族特色相对应的意向 This book serves as a comprehensive introductory guide to the "New Tang Suit." Through a combination of relevant images and descriptive text, it presents the entire process of designing and creating the New Tang Suit, covering aspects such as how the garment was named, its historical evolution, an overview of its styles and characteristics, fabric development and research, sizing specifications, pattern making, cutting, and sewing techniques. It also introduces the development and evolution of Chinese clothing, as well as traditional garment craftsmanship techniques-such as piping, edging, trim insertion, decorative strips, knotted buttons, embroidery, and ornamentation-along with theoretical and other knowledge related to the New Tang Suit. The numerous photographs and technical data on the New Tang Suit featured in the book are derived from actual items and practical production during the design and creation of the attire for leaders at the 2001 APEC Summit in Shanghai. With the exception of some drawings that reference earlier sources, all illustrations are original creative designs produced for this book.
