Inhaltsangabe: Problemstellung: Zunächst soll ein Basiswissen für Biotechnologie vermittelt werden, damit ein Grundverständnis für die zu bewertenden Unternehmen mit ihren Projekten und Produkten entsteht. Dabei ist eine weitgehende Einschränkung auf den, für die betriebswirtschaftliche Analyse notwendigen Teil der Biotechnologie erforderlich. Im Hauptteil sollen die wichtigsten traditionellen Unternehmensbewertungsmethoden anschaulich dargestellt werden, gefolgt von einer verständlichen Darstellung der, in der Praxis oft schwer vermittelbaren, modernen Ansätze der Unternehmensbewertung. Die Arbeit soll sowohl als Informationsmöglichkeit für Interessierte an der ökonomischen Perspektive von biotechnologischen Unternehmen dienen, als auch im Idealfall helfen, ein Netzwerk der Kommunikation für Biotechnologen und potentielle Investoren vorzubereiten. Da der Bereich der Biotechnologie ein sehr komplexes Thema ist, werden im zweiten Kapitel zunächst grundlegende Definitionen und Einflussfaktoren in der Biotechnologiebranche erläutert. Kapital drei analysiert den Prozess der Medikamentenentwicklung medizinisch und betriebswirtschaftlich. In Kapitel vier werden zunächst traditionelle Bewertungsmethoden beschrieben sowie deren Anwendbarkeit bei Biotech-Unternehmen geprüft. Dann werden zwei moderne Bewertungsverfahren theoretisch vorgestellt: Der Realoptionsansatz (ROP-Ansatz) und das riskadjusted Net Present Value-Verfahren (rNPV). Zur Verdeutlichung der jeweiligen Methodik folgen Beispiele mit Sensitivitätsanalyse. Die Anwendung der Bewertungsverfahren bei Biotechs wird aufgezeigt. Abschlie end werden in diesem Kapitel die Vor- und Nachteile der verschiedenen Ansätze gegeneinander aufgewogen. Das fünfte Kapitel enthält eine Zusammenfassung mit Ausblick.
