Designed for people with no previous background in French, these materials can be used in classrooms ranging from middle school to high school to college or can be used to structure and guide independent learning or a complete home-school experience in French. With clear and simple grammar explanations, plenty of workbook-style exercises and practice sheets, and activities to accompany online music and videos as well as popular films, this French program teaches you French in a straight-forward, step-by-step manner. Online materials, including flashcards, practice quizzes, Jeopardy-style games, word searches, and matching games, allow students to listen to vocabulary lists and dialogues, take dictation in French, and much more. The goal of this French study program is to support rapid student learning while having a great time.

Ellen Hartsfield taught French for 15 years at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She also taught courses in the English Department and for a time served as Chair of the Modern Languages Department. Her teaching methodology emphasized the integration of technology and multimedia and the ability of play and laughter to facilitate rapid learning. After years of using a range of traditional textbooks in the classroom, she followed her students' repeated requests that she write her own French textbook because they found the original, supplemental materials she created to be much more useful and meaningful than the approach employed by the typical language text. It is the author's hope that students of all ages will enjoy learning French with this interactive and innovative method. Additionally, Ellen Hartsfield has written a book of poetry called "We Come From Trees" and a book that teaches a form of meditation she developed entitled "Frequency Meditation" An Alchemy of Mind."
