About The Book

More Units of Instruction for Gifted Learners introduces five new units of instruction developed by veteran educators in the field of gifted education. These classroom-tested, interdisciplinary units will challenge and engage students while building and reviewing skills in math, science, language arts, and social studies. Students in grades 2-7 will enjoying experimenting with static electricity; exploring the properties of rocks, gems, and minerals; creating and presenting advertising campaigns; discovering and measuring cylindrical properties; and investigating and taking action on real-world issues. Worksheets, handouts, answer keys, resource lists, and teacher's guides are included for each unit, making this book an effective and easy-to-use part of classroom instruction.

About The Author

Constance Simons works as a gifted education facilitator and teacher in a public school program for gifted students. Her role includes working with small groups of mathematically talented fourthand fifth grade students. She received a bachelor's degree from Drake University and a master's degree from the University of Nebraska.

Sonia Hood has more than 10 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school mathematics. She received her bachelor's degree from Albany College and her master's degree from Queens College. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education. Her passion is guiding children to develop a love of learning while attaining high levels of educational success.
