Das paulinische Christentum evolvierte in Westeuropa zum Trinitarischen Katholizismus und im Orient zur Byzantinischen Kirche. Das Papsttum und das Heilige Römisch-Germanische Reich traten im Mittelalter hervor. Die Nazarener vertraten dagegen puren Monotheismus, Gesetzeseinhaltung und erwarteten den Endzeitpropheten Muhammad und das Tausendjährige Reich Gottes auf Erden. Sie breiteten sich gen Süden aus, viele von ihnen nahmen im siebenten Jahrhundert die Lehre des Islam an, die sich ganz in ihrem Sinn erwies. Mit der Entstehung des Islam wurde die Religion Abrahams, Moses und Jesu zu einer Weltreligion angehoben. Religion und weltliche Angelegenheiten werden nicht voneinander getrennt, Wissenschaften und empirisches Denken gefördert. Technischer Fortschritt und hoher Lebensstandard folgten. Dieses war das goldene Zeitalter des Islam. Später zogen diese wissenschaftlichen und humanistischen Ideen vom arabisch-islamischen Kulturraum über Sizilien, Andalusien und Kreuzfahrerstaaten ins Abendland ein und konnten sich dort verbreiten. Seither ist das Abendland von materiellen und humanistischen Erfolgen gekrönt, während das Morgenland verfiel. Das Erstarken des Abendlandes auf islamisch-arabischen Wurzeln ignorieren viele Abendländer jedoch gerne. Mit diesem Hintergrund reisten wir per Wohnmobil vom Münsterland nach Dubai. Wir bewunderten Monumente der Vergangenheit, erinnerten uns in Iznik an die Entstehung des trinitarischen Katholizismus und am Osttor in Damaskus an die Wiederkunft des Messias, be

Naima Stening wurde im Westfälischen Metelen geboren und lebte dort bis zum neunzehnten Lebensjahr. Zu Beginn der achtziger Jahre installierte sie sich in Brüssel, wo sie begann sich intensiv mit Religionsgeschichte zu beschäftigen. Judentum, Christentum und Islam wurden ihr zum Steckenpferd. Im familiären Rahmen unternahm sie per Wohnmobil diverse Reisen auf den indischen Subkontinent, in den Orient und nach Arabien. Durch diese Besuche bekam sie ganz gezielt Einblick in das Leben und Denken der arabischen Beduinen und Städter.
