Mit Office 2007 geht Microsoft neue Wege bei der Bedienung von Office-Software. Word 2007 ist das erste Programm, das mit einer neuen Benutzeroberfläche daherkommt. Jeder Anwender, der mit älteren Word-Versionen gearbeitet hat, ist nach dem Start des neuen Programms zunächst verunsichert. Der Desktop zeigt sich in einem ungewohnten Outfit, nichts befindet sich an der bekannten Position. Die gewohnten Menüs sind einer neuen Multifunktionsleiste gewichen, die auf den ersten Blick nicht immer selbsterklärend wirkt. Das vorliegende Buch soll die Einarbeitung in das neue System erleichtern. Umfangreiche Beispiele, Bilder und Grafiken geben dem Anwender Hilfestellung bei der Einarbeitung. Das Buch richtet sich an alle, die Word 2007 nutzen wollen - unabhängig davon, ob es sich um Anfänger oder Anwender mit langjährigen Erfahrungen im Office-Bereich handelt. Das neue Konzept wurde inzwischen auf viele weitere Softwareprodukte - nicht nur von Microsoft - übertragen. Die bekannten Menüs werden zunehmend durch Multifunktionsleisten ersetzt. Anwender von Word 2007 können deshalb ihre Erfahrungen auf jede andere Software, die nach diesem Prinzip arbeitet, übertragen.

Bärbel Schulze-Amme wurde 1937 in Berlin geboren. Nach Jahren der Kindererziehung schloss die Autorin ihr Fernstudium an der Fachhochschule Görlitz im Jahre 1978 erfolgreich als Diplom-Ingenieur für Informationsverarbeitung ab. Ihre Tätigkeiten auf dem Gebiet der Informatik begannen bereits im Jahr 1971 in den Anfangszeiten der transistorgestützten Rechentechnik. Die Autorin war durchgehend in Fachbereichen für Computertechnik und Informationsverarbeitung in verschiedenen Firmen tätig. Dem rasanten Fortschritt der Informationstechnologien folgend, hat sie sich immer am neuesten Wissensstand der Hard- und Software orientiert. Daher verfügt sie über weitgehende Erfahrungen auf diesen Gebieten - von den Anfängen bis hin zu modernsten Informationstechnologien. Die Durchführung von Computerlehrgängen für Schüler und Senioren vervollständigt ihr Tätigkeitsprofil. Im Ruhestand arbeitet die Autorin freiberuflich als Grafik-, Satz- und Texterstellungs-Dienstleisterin sowie als Autor von Computersachbüchern. Das vorliegende Buch entstand in der Absicht, Word-Neueinsteigern und Word-Umsteigern zu einem besseren Verständnis des neuen Konzepts zu verhelfen und den Einstieg zu erleichtern.
