Doch stellt er vermutlich aber ein nonverbales und tiefgreifendes Störungsbild dar. Was ist Angst und was ist Mutismus? Was ist der Mutismus, wenn er keine Angst ist? Die selbst betroffene Autorin beschreibt in diesem persönlichen und reichhaltig informativen Buch ihre eigenen Erfahrungen, sowie den aktuellen Wissensstand zum selektiven Mutismus und flechtet Erkenntnissen aus der Neurobiologie und Pränatalpsychologie mit ein und stellt so die Suche und Versuche eines Betroffenen dar, die in der Sackgasse des SM zwischen Wollen aber nicht können stattfinden, und zu dem leidvollen Preis der Überdeckung des eigenen Wesenskerns führen. Es zeigt, welche basalen Erfahrungen zuweilen nötig sind sodass Heilung schlie lich damit ineins geht, dass die Pole kippen und umfassende "Ganzwerdung" möglich wird. Neben tiefenpsychologisch-religiösen Aspekten von "Heilung" ist eine weitere "Elli Geschichte" eingebettet, bei der es um diese "Wandlungen" geht. Daneben vier weitere Innenansichten in Form eines Interviews von (ehemals) Betroffenen Erwachsenen, deren Leben von dem Mutismus "verfärbt" wurde. Eines Tages findet Elli den - wie sie einst selbst - erstarrten und stummen Pieps vor der Haustür. Mit dem "Gefahrenobjekt Pieps" flüchtet sie in den Wald und sucht die Schlange, die sie selbst damals geheilt hatte, wobei gleichsam diese Suche zu einer Begegnung mit dem ungewussten Ort der Angst und umgekehrt auch zur Krippe des Lichts wird.

Simone Dräger, geboren am 22.02.1986 in Solingen. Seit 2003 begann sie ihre Geschichte mit dem Mutismus aktiv schriftlich durch starke Selbstreflexion aufzuarbeiten. Seit 2015 veröffentlichte sie einige Bücher, in dem sie dem "unaussprechlichen" Mutismus eine Stimme verliehen hat, wodurch sich zahlreiche Betroffene verstanden fühlen und Fachleuten wertvolle Inneneinsichten und Erklärungen des Mutismus aufzeigen. Heute studiert sie Angewandte Psychologie.
