This book captures the family life of a physician who attended medical school during the depression and found love in his hometown. The story highlights the changing life along the Ohio River and describes over 200 years of history. Dr. Minor was the son of a general practitioner and followed his father in medicine. He heeded the call of his country in a need for doctors during WWII, and afterwards concentrated his attention on the field of surgery. In Steubenville, Ohio he successfully set up a surgical practice as the only board certified doctor. His love of history was passed on to the author who combines family, history, and the upper Ohio River area in a loving tale.

Mary Minor Evans grew up in Steubenville, Ohio and spent summers in Chautauqua, NY. She presently lives in Duluth, MN where she has been very active in the community serving as president of many organizations. She has had a lifelong interest in genealogy and history.
