A love letter to the greatest double act in cinema, My Ear Is Full of Milk gathers poets, essayists, and storytellers who have spent a lifetime laughing with, and thinking through, Laurel & Hardy. From pianos grinding their way up impossible staircases to fezzes in Sons of the Desert, from Cobh's bells playing 'Dance of the Cuckoos' to late night VHS marathons, these pieces trace how two men in bowler hats lodged themselves in our language, our families, and our ideas of failure, friendship, and grace. Here slapstick meets philosophy, fandom meets film history, and childhood Saturday mornings sit beside grown-up grief. Edited by Simon Barraclough and Aaron Kent, this anthology is a joyous, strange, and tender tribute to Stan and Ollie, and to everyone who has ever found solace in a pratfall, a slow burn to camera, or a joke that keeps echoing long after the reel ends.

Barraclough, Simon: - Simon Barraclough is a Laurel & Hardy fan since childhood, and a poet. He has often written about and around film, including multimedia events based on Hitchcock classics: Psycho Poetica (2010) and Vertiginous (2018). In 2014 he was the writer in residence at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory and currently co-edits the Substack devoted to humanity in deep space: Project Abeona. His books include Los Alamos Mon Amour, Neptune Blue, Sunspots and, most recently, Divine Hours (Broken Sleep Books 2024).

Kent, Aaron: - Aaron Kent is a Cornish poet, editor, and publisher whose work interrogates class, illness, and the violences of everyday life. Founder of the working-class-led press Broken Sleep Books, he has published widely, read at universities across the UK, and has worked with MIND and the Stroke Association as a mental health advocate. He spent a significant portion of his childhood watching Laurel & Hardy with his grandfather, Jenő.
