Covering both theaters of war and all branches of the U.S. military, the book offers readers an inside look at the experiences of veterans from their respective branches of service. Through candid interviews, these men share what it was truly like-from leaving home and entering the unknown, to enduring the hardships, fear, and realities of combat.

Many of these stories were never fully told, even to their own families. Now, in their own words, these veterans provide a powerful, unfiltered look at war, sacrifice, and the lasting impact of their service. A documentary film-featuring nine of the veterans-has also been produced under the same title.

This updated edition preserves these voices for future generations-before they are lost forever.

About The Author

Valera, Charley: - Charley Valera is the bestselling author of My Father's War: Memories from Our Honored WWII Soldiers, a collection of firsthand accounts from eighteen American World War II veterans. He is also a pilot, a former FAA-certified flight school owner, and serves as a media coordinator for an international, aviation-based disaster response organization. Valera also produced a documentary of the same name, featuring nine of the veterans from the book. His work has been featured on television, radio, in magazines, and across digital media. He lives in Southwest Florida with his wife, Cheryl.
