Es soll deutlich werden, was unter globaler Beschaffung zu verstehen ist und wie man diese nachhaltig in die Lieferkette integriert. Am Beispiel von Bananen sollen mögliche Vor- und Nachteile von verschiedenen Transportmitteln erörtert werden, um zu erkennen, wie der deutsche Lebensmittelhandel den aktuellen Herausforderungen begegnet und wie insbesondere logistische Fragestellungen im Bereich der Beschaffung gelöst werden. Die Arbeit gliedert sich in vier Kapitel. In Kapitel zwei werden Schritt für Schritt Kernbegriffe, wie nachhaltige Logistik und globale Beschaffung definiert, um am Ende des Kapitels ein Verständnis von nachhaltiger globaler Beschaffung zu entwickeln. Im dritten Kapitel werden die Erkenntnisse aus dem zweiten Kapitel für die Gegenüberstellung möglicher Transportmittel von Bananen genutzt, um anhand ausgewählter Kriterien zu verdeutlichen, welches Transportmittel für welchen Transportabschnitt am geeignetsten ist. Im letzten Kapitel werden die wesentlichen Erkenntnisse zusammengefasst, bevor ein Fazit gezogen wird. Die Seminararbeit schlie t mit einem Ausblick, der den weiteren bedeutsamen Forschungsbedarf formuliert. Der Wandel des Lebensmittelmarktes wird ma geblich durch den Kunden vorangetrieben. Die starren Strukturen des Marktes können die veränderten Kundenbedürfnisse nicht mehr erfüllen. Für viele Kunden ist der Preis nicht mehr das einzige Kaufkriterium von Lebensmitteln. Qualität, Nachhaltigkeit und Produktherkunft spielen für den Kunden von morgen eine immer wichtiger werdende Rolle.
