Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Veranstaltung: Theaterpädagogik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ein Forschungsfeld eröffnet sich und die Frage, ob man mit Mut, Phantasie und Theaterspiel den sozialen und ökologischen Krisen unserer Zeit beikommen kann, wird gestellt. Um dieser Frage auf den Grund zu gehen, werden im zweiten Kapitel zwei verschiedene Weltsichten und deren Genese erläutert. Die mechanistische Sichtweise begreift die Welt als Uhrwerk. Die sich daraus für den Menschen ergebende Weltbeziehung ist eine auf Trennung, Beherrschung und Manipulation ausgerichtete. Die andere Sichtweise begreift die Welt als Organismus und bezieht sich auf selbige durch Verbundenheit und Empathie. In Kapitel drei wird das "Theater zum Leben" (orig. Theatre for Living) des kanadischen Theatermachers David Diamond vorgestellt und als möglicher Ansatz für theaterpädagogisches Handeln im Dienst eines sozialen und ökologischen Wandels hin zu mehr Verbundenheit und Gemeinschaft untersucht. Beim Theater zum Leben handelt es sich um eine Weiterentwicklung von Augusto Boals "Theater der Unterdrückten" unter Berücksichtigung systemtheoretischer Erkenntnisse des Soziologen Niklas Luhmann. Die Möglichkeiten des Statuentheaters und des Forumtheaters kommen bei strukturellen und sozialen Problemen zum Einsatz, um einen empathischen Dialog im Gemeinwesen zu fördern. Die bei der Anwendung dieser Methoden gemachten Erfahrungen von David Diamond und deren Auswirkung auf die Entstehung seines persönlichen Ansatzes des "Theater zum Leben" werden in diesem Kapitel ebenso angerissen wie die Rolle der Workshopleitung, notwendige Organisation und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für solche sozialen Theaterprojekte. In der Zusammenfassung werden Phantasie, Empathie und der Mut, sich gemeinsam ins Ungewisse zu begeben, als Hauptqualitäten eines "Theater zum Leben"-Prozesses identifiziert und somit der Bogen zurück zur unendlichen Geschichte geschlagen.
