Anzahl der erschlossenen Personenmappen: 372 Gefördert von der Deutschen Stiftung Denkmalschutz, publiziert der Verlag für Bibliotheken derzeit die biographische Sammlung von Personenportraits, "Namen und Werke" von Hinrich Jantzen. "Namen und Werke" geht auf umfangreiche Fragebogenaktionen zurück, die bis in die fünfziger Jahre zurückreichen und eine Fülle von Informationen zu Leben und Werken zahlreicher Angehöriger der deutschen Jugendbewegung erbrachten. Obwohl auf zehn Bände angelegt, wurde die Reihe nach fünf Bänden nicht weitergeführt. Aus dem Nachla von Hinrich Jantzen werden jetzt sämtliche auffindbare Fragebögen faksimiliert und in alphabetischer Folge veröffentlicht. Das bisher unveröffentlichte, aus vielen Autographen und Typoskripten bestehende Material erweitert die fünf Originalbände, die als unveränderte Reprints veröffentlicht werden, um viele Personen und Informationen. Verzichtet wurde bei den Ergänzungsbänden auf das aus der Reihe gewohnte ergänzende Material (Zeitungsberichte, Werkproben usw.), so da allein die personenbezogenen Angaben zu einem umfangreichen Personenlexikon der deutschen Jugendbewegung zusammengeführt werden. Das Material gibt aber nicht nur Aufschlu über Leben und Werke der genannten Personen, sondern auch über die Art und Weise, wie sich die Befragten inszenierten, wie und als wer sie innerhalb der Buchreihe gesehen werden wollten. Wo sich diese Angaben mit den ursprünglich redigierten Kapiteln vergleichen lassen, gibt das Material auch Auskunft über redaktionelle Eingriffe und Kürzungen des damaligen Herausgebers und des Verlags.
