And then, life decides to slip out his hands and Gods decide Neil must die....

Kaberi Chatterjee was born in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India, on July 28, 1967, and grew up in a stately house in a conservative joint family system. Calcutta was the capital of British Empire when they ruled India for almost 200 years. Her grandfather was involved in the revolutionary movement that deposed the British from India eventually in 1947 and she grew up with intense emotions about the freedom fighters who laid down their lives to free India from the British rule. Kaberi spent most of her childhood lost in her mysterious, huge house which had many quarters. Her imagination was fuelled from here and she began writing poems from the age of six. However, being an extremely shy child, her poems have never seen daylight. Born a Hindu and a Bengali, Kaberi attended an English medium Christian school where she grew up in learning about Christianity and singing hymns and carols. As she blossomed into a young girl, Kaberi began to perceive the reality of freedom in her country. Poverty, corruption, population had plagued her country. Citizens had become puppets in the hands of the system, where dishonesty and fraud had become the rule, not the exception. This slowly infected young minds and they were soon losing their direction and sense of purpose. Kaberi felt all of these herself slowly, and decided to write about Neil, a young boy, born in a similar situation and becoming a victim in the hands of the system. Kaberi graduated as a journalist in 1990 and picked up her pen in the hope of fighting for the downtrodden. She wrote for more than 10 newspapers and magazines and worked in three major newspapers in India as editor. She loves travelling and adventure sports. She has traversed the Himalayas and participated in white water rafting. She is a qualified Indian classical dancer. One of her stories has been made into a film. She loves animals and is worried about global warming. Kaberi now lives with her husband and teenage son in Mississauga, Canada. This is her second book.
