Wenn ja, welche könnten das sein? Diese und weitere Fragen werden in dem Buch "Neo-Zen" ausführlich erörtert.

Detlef B. Fischer wurde 1952 in Haltern am See geboren. Er studierte Design in Düsseldorf und Freie Kunst an der Kunstakademie Münster. Seit Mitte der siebziger Jahre des vorigen Jahrhunderts praktiziert er Zen-Meditation. In Paris begegnete er dem japanischen Zen-Meister Taisen Deshimaru. Er ließ sich von ihm ordinieren und wurde als "Sojo Bosatzu" in den Kreis seiner Schüler aufgenommen. Nach dem Tod Deshimarus 1982 studierte er 20 Jahre lang bei verschiedenen buddhistischen Lehrern aus den USA, Europa und Asien weiter. Seit vielen Jahren beschäftigt sich Detlef B. Fischer mit den Grundlagen und Wesensmerkmalen der westlichen und der östlichen Kulturen. Das Buch "Neo-Zen" ist die Essenz seiner geistigen Auseinandersetzung mit den Unterschieden, Übereinstimmungen und Ähnlichkeiten zwischen den geistigen Wurzeln Asiens und Europas. In dem Buch "Das Tao der Kunst" beschäftigt sich Detlef B. Fischer mit dem Verhältnis von Spiritualität und Bildender Kunst.
