Die Netzplantechnik ist heute eines der für die Praxis bedeutsamsten Ge- biete des Operations Research. Ihre Methoden, insbesondere der Struktur- und Zeitplanung, werden bei vielen Planungen mit Erfolg angewendet. Da- zu hat die Entwicklung der Verfahren "Critical Path Method" (CPM), "Program Evaluation and Review Technique" (PERT) und "Metra Poten- tial Methode" (MPM) zweifellos entscheidend beigetragen. Es ist deshalb nicht verwunderlich, da sich der Au'fbau der meisten Bücher zur Netz- plantechnik an diesen Verfahren orientiert [so z. B. Wille, Gewald und Weber, 1972; 1humb, 1968; Zimmermann, 1971] oder da sich die Auto- renvon vornherein auf die Darstellung eines der drei Verfahren beschrän- ken [Heeg, 1965; Miller, 1965; Wolff, 1967]. Dem vorliegc: nden Buch liegt eine solche Konzeption nicht zugrunde, da wir von der Überlegung ausge- hen, da der Planer in die Lage versetzt werden sollte, die Verfahren der Netzplantechnik flexibel anzuwenden, d. h. sie der jeweiligen Planungsauf- gabe bestmöglich anzupassen. Um ihn mit dem dazu erforderlichen Wissen auszustatten, kann es nicht zweckmä ig sein, ihn etwa mit den Einzelhei- ten aller oder auch nur einiger der inzwischen mehr als 30 V erfahren der Struktur- und Zeitplanung vertraut machen zu wollen. Es erscheint sinn- voller zu versuchen, die grundlegenden Gemeinsamkeiten der Verfahren zur Lösung eines Problems herauszuarbeiten und einige spezielle Verfah- ren als Sonderfälle eines allgemeinen Verfahrens zu behandeln. Dieser Weg wird hier beschritten.
