Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich VWL - Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen, Note: 1,3, Universität Bayreuth, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Zuge der Initiative für hochverschuldete arme Länder (HIPC-Initiative) sowie der Multilateralen Entschuldungsinitiative (MDRI) konnte der Schuldenstand in den beteiligten Ländern im Verlauf der vergangenen zehn Jahre erheblich reduziert werden. Mittels der bereitgestellten Entschuldungshilfe soll diesen Ländern geholfen werden, eine in Zukunft tragfähige Schuldenbelastung zu ermöglichen, um so die Realisierung entwicklungspolitischer Ziele zu unterstützen. Aufgrund einer steigenden Neuverschuldung, vor allem in den Ländern, welche die beiden Initiativen vollständig durchlaufen haben, ist die Frage einer wiederum untragbaren Neuverschuldung von frisch entlasteten Ländern in den Fokus der internationalen Schuldendiskussion gerückt. Insbesondere private internationale Kreditgeber haben diesbezüglich ihr Engagement in Folge der gestärkten Kreditwürdigkeit dieser Länder in den Jahren nach der Entschuldung nahezu verdoppelt. Jedoch auch multilaterale und bilaterale Gläubiger haben ihr Kreditangebot erhöht. In Konsequenz begründet dies einen ansteigenden rückzahlungspflichtigen Kapitalstrom in die früheren Teilnehmerländer der HIPC- und MDRI-Initiative. Ziel vorliegender Arbeit ist nun einerseits die Identifikation entwicklungspolitischer Möglichkeiten, welche sich für die betroffenen Länder aus der erhöhten Kreditkapitalzufuhr potenziell ergeben. Andererseits sollen Risikofaktoren aufgezeigt werden, die in der Lage sind eine erneute Überschuldung dieser Länder zu forcieren. Der Aufbau der Arbeit gliedert sich hierfür wie folgt: Kapitel 2 bietet zunächst eine einführende Übersicht über die Entschuldungsmechanismen im Rahmen der HIPC-Initiative und der MDRI. Speziell herausgehoben werden in diesem Zusammenhang einzelne Elemente, die einen unmittelbaren Einfluss auf potenzielle Chancen und Risiken einer Neuverschuldung nac
