Nach Einfiihrung einer neuen diagnostischen Methode in die Klinik kann hiiufig erst nach vielen Jahren Uber die Wertigkeit des Verfahrens geurteilt werden. Dies trifft in hohem Ma e fUr die perkutane Nierenbiopsie zu Anderungen der Punktionstechnik und die VerOffentlichung von Einzelergebnissen und Komplikationen haben die Indikationsstellung wesentlich beeinflu t. In der vorliegenden Abhandlung soll die Stellung der Nierenbiopsie bei der Dia- gnostik von Nieren-und Hochdruckkrankheiten nach fast 25-jiihriger Erfahrung dar- gestellt werden. Zur Uberpriifung dieser diagnostischen Methode war eine moglichst vollstiindige Literaturiibersicht sowie die Auswertung eigener Ergebnisse erforderlich. Umfangreiche praktische Hinweise sollen der Verbesserung der Technik sowie der Erkennung, Beurteilung und Therapie moglicher Komplikationen dienen. Die Auswertung der eigenen Ergebnisse gibt Hinweise auf den Wert und die Grenzen der diagnostischen Nierenbiopsie und erleichtert somit die Indikations- stellung. FUr ihre Grundlage dieser Arbeit ist meine Habilitationsschrift von 1976 gewesen. UnterstUtzung und Beratung bin ich Herrn Prof. Dr. fl. J. l)engler und Herrn Prof. Dr. W.
