Elsa M. Garmire, PhD, is a Fellow of IEEE, the Optical Society, the American Physical Society, and the Society of Women Engineers. From 1995 to 2016, she taught interdisciplinary engineering courses as Sydney Junkins Professor at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. She has served on multiple National Research Council Committees and specialized in Nonlinear Optics (NLO) at MIT.
