In his work titled "Notes on Indian History, 664 1858," Marx dedicated meticulous attention to the study of India during the colonial era. During the 1850s and onward, he extensively examined the various forms and strategies of colonial governance and exploitation prevalent in India. Additionally, Marx developed a particular fascination with India due to its preservation, albeit to some extent, of unique relationships characteristic of primitive communal society.

Karl Marx FRSA (1818–1883) was a philosopher, economist, historian, sociologist, political theorist, journalist, and critic of political economy. Born in Germany, he is widely recognized as a revolutionary socialist. Among his most renowned works are The Communist Manifesto, published in 1848, and Das Kapital, a three-volume work written between 1867 and 1894. The latter extensively utilizes his theory of historical materialism to analyze capitalism and is considered his most significant intellectual accomplishment. Marx's ideas laid the foundation for Marxism and have had a profound impact on subsequent intellectual, economic, and political developments throughout history.
