About The Author

Chris Champagne a toujours vécu à la Nouvelle-Orléans, où sa famille est installée depuis la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle.

Diplômé de l'Orleans Parish School et de l'Université de la Nouvelle-Orléans (en sciences historiques), Chris cumule les activités d'écrivain, de poète, de critique politique, d'acteur et comédien, d'animateur radiophonique et de chroniqueur. Sa renommée s'étend à l'ensemble de la région de la Nouvelle-Orléans.

En 2012, il a figuré parmi les 144 personnalités importantes de la Nouvelle-Orléans (144 New Orleans Characters). Il a également été élu meilleur comédien de la Nouvelle-Orléans en 2013 et en 2014, et a fait partie des équipes du National Poetry Slam à San Francisco (1993) et à Chicago (1999). En outre, il a été lauréat de l'Alliance of Artists (2006) et du College of Santa Fe (2008).

Enfin, Chris est l'auteur du recueil de poèmes Roach Opera (Portals Press, 2007) et de The Yat Dictionary (Lavender Ink, 2013), qui traite du dialecte de la Nouvelle-Orléans.
