Diabetes Mellitus is a heterogeneous group of metabolic disorders that have hyperglycaemia in common, type I and type II, the latter being the most frequent form of the disease, affecting 90% of all cases of Diabetes Mellitus. Nursing can articulate intervention actions by identifying the reality in which patients are inserted, using the Systematisation of Nursing Care as a facilitating element in care planning.
