Der Hintergrund dieses Themas ist die stetige Weiterentwicklung internetbasierter Geschäftsmodelle und der Bedarf, Informationen über Internetma nahmen zu gewinnen und zu nutzen. Diese Arbeit unterteilt die wirtschaftliche Tätigkeit nach dem Leistungserstellungsprozess und diskutiert darauf aufbauend, welche Faktoren ma geblichen Einfluss auf den Erfolg einer Internetpräsenz nehmen. Nach einer Diskussion der Einflussgrö en, die für die positive Entwicklung eines webbasierten Gewerbes verantwortlich sind, werden drei Kerndimensionen identifiziert. Mithilfe dieser drei Erfolgsfaktoren ist es möglich Strategien für die Planung, Steuerung und Kontrolle von Internetseiten festzulegen. Auf Basis dieser Vorgaben wird eine Struktur erarbeitet, die es ermöglicht konkrete Ziele und deren notwendigen Ma nahmen messbar zu machen. Die Grundlage für die Datenerhebung bilden Web Analytics Applikationen. Hierzu geht die Arbeit auf die Funktionsweise dieser Programme ein und gibt einen Überblick über die Anwendungsfelder, die mit einer Internetdatenanalyse möglich sind. Sie beschreibt die unterstützten Analysemöglichkeiten und zeigt Grenzen dieser Forschungsrichtung auf. Schlie lich beinhaltet sie eine umfassende Analyse des wirtschaftlichen Nutzens von Web Analytics unter Verwendung des Erfolgsbeitrages.
