Gonçalo Coelho nasceu em Oeiras em 1978. Residiu nas cidades de Lisboa, Porto, Brighton no Reino Unido e São Bento do Sul no Brasil. Reside actualmente em Berlim, na capital germânica. Estas experiências preenchem o seu espaço literário caracterizado pela diversidade cultural e por uma expressa vontade de proporcionar perspectivas e facetas diferentes das que são geralmente mais veiculadas sobre o mundo em que vivemos. Possui o grau de Master of Mechanical Engineering pela Universidade de Sussex desde 2000, mantendo-se para sempre fiel à sua paixão pela literatura. Em 2008 publicou o seu primeiro romance intitulado Poker pela Mill-Books. Com base em anos de pesquisa e dedicação, em particular debruçando-se sobre as raízes do radicalismo islâmico, publica um segundo romance bem mais ambicioso intitulado O Milagre de Yousef que trata da história de vida de um saudita que, no auge do seu radicalismo, sofre uma amnésia. A obra inicia-se e termina em Istambul já depois da amnésia e, no seu miolo, narra a história de vida do mesmo Yousef, este homem que derivou para o radicalismo islâmico e que um dia acordou sem passado. Para além dos dois romances acima mencionados, Gonçalo Coelho participou em duas colectâneas de contos Liberdade Condicional (2006) e A Arte Pela Escrita (2008). Publicou o conto Explosão para a liberdade na revista literária online Bestiário de Porto Alegre (2006). Participou no congresso Relipes III organizado pela Universidade da Beira Interior e publicou nas actas do congresso na rúbrica Um Texto para o Outro com um texto sobre a vizinha Espanha (2007). Contribuiu com uma coluna quinzenal no jornal Primeiro de Janeiro (2008). Alguns destes artigos foram lidos na Rádio Algarve FM.
