C++ is a popular object-oriented programming (OOP) language for developing high-performance computer applications. This text explores the various key concepts of object-oriented programming such as encapsulation, abstraction, overloading, inheritance, polymorphism, virtual functions, templates and exception handling. Since C++ is an extension of standard version of C, a detailed treatment of C is also given to address the needs of the first-time programmers not acquainted with the features set of C. Programming is an art much like mathematics and is best appreciated and understood only if the conceptual side of the features is put forth as opposed to the conventional view of syntax emphasis.
