ESS Űrtalicska (Roaba Spațială) nu este o navă spațială obișnuită, iar echipajul ei este departe de standardele rafinate ale Star Trek. Povestea urmărește jurnalul de bord al unui căpitan secui, un om pragmatic, cinic și adesea mahmur, care �ncearcă să navigheze prin absurdul secolului XXIV. �ntr-o lume �n care Imperiul Sovietic a revenit, iar tehnologia americană de v�rf este m�nuită de oameni care t�njesc după slănină și pălincă, supraviețuirea devine o formă de artă improvizată.

Principalele fire narative includ:

  • Conflictele Absurde: De la lupta cu o "lipitoare-sondă" sovietică (pe care voluntarul american Jancsi-Ajt� �ncearcă să o doboare cu un briceag secuiesc) p�nă la distrugerea accidentală a unei sonde chinezești printr-o simplă apăsare greșită de buton, nava trece constant prin situații limită rezolvate prin metode neortodoxe.
  • Viața la Bord: Echipajul este un amestec colorat de personaje: Fr�di, forța brută care se căsătorește la beție și uită cu cine; M�zi, ofițerul cu privire cuceritoare dar adesea fără pantaloni; Szidike, care pleacă spre Păm�nt �nsărcinată; și M�rta, șamana-filozof a navei.
  • Tragedie și Sacrificiu: Dincolo de umorul grosier, jurnalul atinge note melancolice prin moartea lui nea Karcsi, mecanicul care se sacrifică �n motorul de fuziune din cauza dorului de casă și a "războiului rece" intern, lăs�nd �n urmă doar o cheie fixă de 22.
  • Misterul "K.I." Un personaj fantomatic, probabil Istv�n Kov�cs, b�ntuie nava, lăs�nd mesaje scrise cu fasole sau pastă de dinți pe oglinzi, provoc�nd autoritatea și sănătatea mintală a căpitanului.

Concluzie: Punctul culminant al acestei secvențe de jurnal este momentul �n care nava, divizată de un război civil �ntre "sectoarele de sus și de jos", se reunifică �n jurul unui foc de tabără improvizat �n hangar. Căpitanul �și jertfește propria budă de lemn (adusă cu greu de pe Păm�nt) pentru a face focul, iar echipajul se regăsește �n aburii pălincii și �n acordurile unui c�ntec popular vechi. "Ceva"-ul pe care �l căutau nu era o destinație stelară, ci acea făr�mă de umanitate și solidaritate brută care �i ține legați �n imensitatea rece a cosmosului.

Este o satiră tăioasă despre natura umană, dorul de casă și capacitatea de a găsi umor chiar și atunci c�nd universul pare să scrie "Ești un prost!" pe ecranul principal.
