About The Book

Now as to how this book came to be. This is actually my own transcribed journal from late 2009,2010, early 2011. This was a time of terrible crisis for me and my family. There were four major tragedies that occurred from July 2009 to October 2009. To list them, our children were taken away from us for 2 months, our son went to jail, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and I lost my business of 22 years. A week after this all started, on July 29,2009, I woke up at 5:00 AM and was remembering all the times, those first 25 years of marriage that I had been a bad husband and father. I was very often angry and unkind to my wife and children. I laid there crying for about an hour and a half. Not that I was necessarily responsible for every action of those in my family but that I had fostered a bad atmosphere so these terrible situations occurred. I stayed in this quagmire for about three weeks. After which He(God The Father)started coming to me and gave me The Way of Thanksgiving, which is His Will, On Earth as it is in Heaven. The point of this recalling is to emphasize that you will have to start with your own introspection and honestly be sorrowful for your misdeeds. Then and only then is this wonderful grace of thankfulness there to bring you peace and happiness. This was also the best time of my life. Our Father in heaven came to me in this dark time and showed me how these personal crisis are great opportunities for victory through the simple way He showed me about thankfulness and its application. Summer 2009, when these very difficult things were occurring, is when God the Father began showing me the way of Thanksgiving. This way turned that terrible time into the best of my life. I call that summer "the summer of life ". My intention for you, reader, is to find a way to deal with all things in life, good, bad or neutral, through the stories in this book. I had no idea, at the time I entered these stories in my journal, that the journal as a whole is a comprehensive how-to manual. It is very simple to learn this way of thanksgiving, almost too simple. May the grace of thankfulness inundate every soul on earth.

About The Author

Johns, Charles Eben: - Charles Eben Johns, known by his middle name Eben by family and friends. Eben is now a bit of a worn carpenter, and arm chair philosopher, who lives in Amarillo, Texas and has since Christmas of 1978. Life experience and the grace of God, his qualifications for writing this 'how to' book on being thankful. He was born in an Indian hospital in Stella, Missouri. He is self-educated by way of reading approximately 1000 books between the ages of 12 and 21.Reader, please don't disregard these messages from God based on the lack of accolades of the writer. Mr. Johns graduated High School in northwest Wyoming in 1976.He spent time in college in Colorado in the late seventies (mostly partying).He was privileged to meet a beautiful young Polish girl from St Paul, Minnesota in1981, who is now his wife, the love of his life, they have 7 grown children. He converted to Catholicism in 1987. Raised Baptist. He loves to study applied history with a spiritual component, golf, smoke cigars and trout fish. Mr Johns attributes his faith in God to Mrs. Birtha Johns, his grandmother, the best Southern Baptist woman who ever lived. She told Mr. Johns, the year before she died in 1997, that she had prayed for him for 30 minutes a day for 40 years. Thanks to his grandma.
