Most books for this age tell a young person how to feel about school.

This one just prints what to say.

One Line Is Enough is 186 entries, one page each, and every single page gives the exact words for one situation. Not a strategy. Not a mindset. The sentence.

Find the page. Take the line. Put the book down.

EVERY ONE OF THE 186 PAGES HAS THE SAME FIVE PARTS

- WHAT IS HAPPENING - two lines, so you know you are on the right page.

- SAY THIS - the line, printed the way somebody would actually say it out loud.

- SHORTER - two to five words, for when there are people watching and the long version is not going to come out.

- IF THEY KEEP GOING - one move. Not a second speech.

- NOT YOURS TO FIX - where your part ends and an adult's begins. This is on all 186 pages, including the easy ones.

THE NINE SITUATIONS

When something is going round about you. When a group closes. When they do it in front of everybody. When they ask you to do something you do not want to do. When it is about a friend - drifting, ending, apologising, or being the one who wants out. When you have to talk to a teacher. When you have to tell an adult. When you are the one who got it wrong. And when you have to go first.

WHY THE LINES ARE SO SHORT

A long sentence gives the other person somewhere to go: a reason to argue with, a feeling to laugh at, five words to repeat back in a stupid voice tomorrow. A short line contains none of that. And under pressure, in a corridor, nobody remembers a long one.

Five rules run under all 186 pages: say it once, do not give a reason, never with an audience, flat rather than angry, and know where your part stops.

WHAT IS NOT IN HERE

No encouragement. No "believe in yourself", no "you are special", no motivational anything. Nothing at all about bodies, weight, food, sleep or how anyone looks - those subjects do not appear in this book in any form. No diagnoses, no clinical words used as labels, no techniques borrowed from therapy. No statistics, no studies, no real cases: every situation was invented while writing, and the book says so at the front. No app, platform, game or brand is named anywhere, because the names change every two years and the situations do not.

THE PART MOST BOOKS LEAVE OUT

A whole section on telling an adult - the opening sentence, what makes an adult able to act, what to do when you are frightened it will make things worse, and what to do when you told somebody and nothing happened. That last part is real, and this book does not stop before it.

There is also a page in the middle that says plainly: if something is still happening, you did not fail to find the right words. Some situations were never going to be fixed by a sentence. That is what the last field on every page is for.
