James Preller has been making up stories since before he started school, though at the time he never dreamed of being an author, instead intending to play baseball for the New York Mets. His books range from movie adaptations to nonfiction about sports and animals, and even a book for teachers. James is best known for his mystery series Jigsaw Jones, as well as the wilderness survival novel Blood Mountain (Feiwel & Friends, 2019). He is the author of Only in Washington, D.C. (Wide Eyed Editions, 2025). He still cares--deeply, foolishly--about the score of professional baseball games.
