Hello, and merry meet! Welcome to the wonderful world of magic and ritual, where there is divine beauty found within all things and everyone has a place. For this is the foundation of Wicca: to harm none, live as one wilt, and to every day be a better self than the day before. If you are reading this as a way of understanding the craft and religion, you are most welcome. Hopefully this comprehensive study of the various traditions, beliefs, and practices of Wicca and witchcraft answers your questions and helps you form a positive understanding of a witch's way of life. If you are reading this book as a means of becoming a witch yourself: hail, and welcome. Find within the many chapters here both an overview of Wiccan belief and practice, as well as a practical guide to understanding and working with the various components of an ancient and revitalized art: witchcraft.
As used by Wiccans, witchcraft is a tool which translates the wisdom of the earth into processes for self-improvement and prolonged health and wellness. It can be used for terrible self-gain or retribution as well, but Wicca as a religion focuses almost entirely on the light and uses witchcraft exclusively for beneficial and protective magic. This book will hone-in on many aspects of both topics, mentioning aspects of witchcraft which some Wiccans would never do as well as detailing beliefs that don't apply to every witch, for not every witch, every person who uses witchcraft in their spiritual practices, is Wiccan. This book is meant to serve as a guide to those who wish to make use of both Wicca and witchcraft along their spiritual journey, largely covering the topics as they relate to each other, with only hints at what other variations may exist in the witchy world. This book is a compilation of knowledge gained through years of coursework, study, and personal practice. Contributing sources include covens of all varieties, from Wicca 101 and British Traditional Wicca (BTW) sessions with Gardnerian covens to classes covering Astrology, Divine Persona, and more led by renown Wiccan leadership throughout the Pagan community of North America. Additionally, dozens of sources were consulted and cited throughout the book, from history textbooks to the famous works of founding authors within the Wiccan religion. This book is meant to fill in knowledge gaps within the Wiccan world today, correct the historical record on some things that are often misquoted, as well as cover the more familiar topics in a way which is all-inclusive, informing on the many different forms of Wiccan practice found in the world today. Through the reading-check questions and practical exercises found at the end of each chapter, this book can also be used to gauge your knowledge and mastery of the practical aspects of the subject. Since this book is largely designed to inform as well as teach, much of the teaching aspect of the practice of Wiccan witchcraft is provided through the after-lesson exercises. The chapters themselves are designed to be more informational, talking about the underlying concepts and background details required to have a truly comprehensive understanding of both the religion of Wicca and the practice of magic. Whether your intention is to broaden your understanding of religious practice, or learn how to be a Wiccan witch yourself, with Wiccan traditions of your very own, don't hesitate to dig deeper into this book and find the answers you seek. However, note that the mysteries of this world and the next can scarce be found between pages of a book of any kind. There is no substitute for practical experience and conversation. Read this book, read the recommended material from all of the influencers of the Wiccan religion, and think critically about how you wish to incorporate this knowledge into your spiritual journey. Then, go out and try some things of your very own. There is no better teacher than experience.• Author(s): Clear | James • Publisher: Penguin • Publisher Imprint: Penguin Random House • Subject: General Books
