Balancing practical experimentation with analytical constructs, the book covers both the theoretical aspects of spin injection, transport, and detection in organic spin valves as well as the underlying mechanism of the magnetoresistance and magneto-electroluminescence in OLEDs. The first book of its kind on this specialized area, this volume is destined to provide researchers and students with the impetus to develop new channels of inquiry in an area that has almost limitless potential.

Zeev Valy Vardeny is Distinguished Professor of Physics at the University of Utah. He received his BS (1969) and PhD (1979) in physics from the Technion, Haifa, Israel. He is regional editor of the Journal of Synthethic Metals and consultant with two major corporations: Cambridge Display Technologies, and Plextronics. Vardeny has published more than 480 peer-reviewed research articles, is the editor of 4 books, and holds 12 patents and provisional patents.
