Admittedly thin-skinned, the many harsh words hurled his way, hurt deeply but didn't stop him. No wonder, then that, in the end, The New York Times described him as "the most human President who ever sat in the White House."

Carol A. Josel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Maine, as well as a Master of Reading degree and principal certification from Arcadia University. As a learning specialist, she worked with middle schoolers and their parents at Pennsylvania's Methacton School District for 25 years before supervising student teachers at Ursinus College.
