Einleitung Der Wandel der Informationstechnologie (IT) und die dynamische Entwicklung auf den Märkten für Industrieprodukte bedeuten für jedes Unternehmen eine ständige Herausforderung. Die kontinuierliche Anpassung der IT Strategie an veränderte Rahmenbedingungen wird infolgedessen zu einer strategischen Notwendigkeit. Gerade heutzutage gewinnt IT-Outsourcing als unternehmerisches Gestaltungsmittel immer mehr an Bedeutung. In wirtschaftlich schwierigen Zeiten stellt das Anzeichen der Kostenreduktion für Unternehmen häufig ein Motiv zur Verschlankung eigener Unternehmensstrukturen und Auslagerung einzelner Aufgabenbereiche dar. Gerade die rasante Entwicklung im Bereich der Informationstechnologie (IT) zeigt dies deutlich auf. Eine Lösung für diese schnelle Entwicklung in der Informations-Technologie wird in der Ausgliederung der Nicht-Kernkompetenzen gesehen. Dabei sollte nicht übersehen werden, wie wichtig diese Nicht-Kernkompetenzen weiterhin für ein Unternehmen sein können. 2. Begriffliche Abgrenzung und Ausprägungen im Einzelnen Im folgenden Kapitel wird der Begriff Outsourcing und damit zusammen hängende IT-Leistungen zu definiert und abgegrenzt. Zuerst werden kurz die Begriffe Sourcing und Outsourcing erläutert und im Anschluss über IT-Leistungen und das IT-Outsourcing als solches diskutiert. Ferner wird auch auf das Insourcing als Gegenpol eingegangen, die Eigenschaften des IT-Outsourcing speziell erklärt und von ähnlichen Begriffen abgegrenzt... 3. Konzept des Outsourcing und seine Basisbetrachtungen "Das Outsourcing ist mittlerweile zu einem der wichtigsten Instrumente des heutigen Wirtschaftslebens geworden, was sich auch in der regen Diskussion dieses Themas widerspiegelt" [Ahrn92].
