In 2011 begon de Italiaanse neuroloog Dr Antonio Costantini zijn parkinson patiënten te behandelen met hoge doses B1. Als gevolg daarvan verbeterden hun symptomen tot wel 70% en hun ziekte vorderde niet veel verder gedurende de vijf jaar waarin hij met hen werkte. Toch is er bij doktoren en parkinson verplegers nog weinig bekendheid over deze waardevolle therapie.

Het behandelt theorieën en hypotheses over het substantiële effect van thiamine op het brein, bespreekt de beschikbare onderzoeksresultaten van studies naar het effect van hoge doses B1 op parkinson patiënten en geeft patiënten en doktoren die de therapie wensen te gebruiken gedetailleerd uitleg over het protocol zoals we dat op dit moment kennen.

De ziekte van parkinson is een degeneratieve ziekte en daarom is er een gevoel van urgentie om neurologen, artsen en parkinson verplegers bekend te maken met deze therapie.
