Organized sport in Brazil faces many difficulties. In any case, there is a considerable number of practitioners at all ages. Information on participation in sport is scarce, especially with regard to health. This study sought to analyse the level of physical activity among adolescents who practised organized sport in childhood, in order to verify the association with health-related aspects. Young people who practiced sport in childhood were found to be more physically active and to have positive health-related aspects.
