He became the recipient of a three-organ transplant and a member of the short-gut syndrome community. Lengthy hospital stays, several air ambulance transports across the country and countless medical procedures were the norm. As his family desperately clung to faith, they hoped through each precious day towards an unknown future and against an unforgiving illness.

Written through the eyes of his father, the author will lead you into an extraordinary young boy's journey against the monster of transplant-related chaos. Noah braved these storms with resolve and he defied the odds with heart, contagious laughter and a bucketful of hope. His son's life is a true inspiration. Roger Ziegler finds his inspiration within the struggles of life and offers hope to those around him. He enjoys writing to encourage, to inspire, and for the joy of helping others. A former church youth leader, a part-time writer, full-time employee in Corporate America, and with a creative focus, Roger engages with the passion of helping others and finds solace in seeking after the things of God. A pursuit of his fantastic purpose has led to his lifelong goal: to "live life on purpose" and share the powerful love that has rescued him. He spends his time with his wife, Paula, at their home in Pittsburgh, PA and together they take on all of life's escapades. Music, laughter, and fun abound in their home and they celebrate 27 years of marriage - still madly in love with each other. They have four wonderful children and one very special grandson. With the vision of touching hearts and lives through his son's story, a desire has emerged to launch a nonprofit organization. In hopes that this will benefit families who have been adversely affected by their child's chronic illness, just as his family has experienced, he seeks support to make this possible. Patchwork Kid is only the beginning of an adventure to help others.
