Perri loves school, especially reading and laughing with her friends. But one day, something unexpected happens. When a classmate begins to poke pencils into Perri's big, beautiful afro, everyone laughs. Everyone except Perri.

Uh-oh. Perri has a pencil problem.

Her stomach twists, her smile fades, and a quiet question rises inside her: What should she do?

Join Perri on a heartfelt journey about friendship, respect, and learning to say, "That's not okay."

This story helps children ages 6-9 explore:

  • Standing up for themselves
  • Understanding boundaries
  • Respecting differences
  • Navigating tricky friendship moments

Perfect for families, classrooms, and conversations about kindness, confidence, and self-respect, Perri's story reminds young readers that being brave starts with using your voice.
