Betrachtet man den demografischen Wandel, dann zeigt dieser, dass der Anteil der in Frage kommenden jungen Arbeitnehmern sinkt und aufgrund dessen wird sich die Arbeitsmarktlage in der Zukunft drastisch ändern. Somit ist es umso wichtiger von Bedeutung, dass künftig der Mangel an Fachkräften durch eine langfristige Bindung an das Unternehmen vorgebeugt wird. Mitarbeiter stellen für Unternehmen einen Erfolgsfaktor dar und deshalb hat ein Unternehmen die Aufgabe, durch Personalentwicklung Sorge zu tragen, dass das Wissen und die Fähigkeiten der Mitarbeiter den Anforderungen nonstop gewachsen sind. Zusätzlich rücken Einsatzbereitschaft und Teamfähigkeit zunehmender in den Vordergrund. Angesichts des Umfangs bzw. der Weitläufigkeit dieses Themas und dem einer Hausarbeit werden hier ausschlie lich die Grundlagen der Personalentwicklung analysiert sowie eine Auswahl an Methoden aufgezeigt. Die Planung sowie die Beurteilung der Personalentwicklung schlie en diese Arbeit ab.
