Das Projekt wurde gef6rdert von Ministerium des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen im Rahmen des Landesprogramms "Mensch und Technik - Sozialvertriigliche Technikgestaltung". 1m Verlaufe der Durcbfiihmng unseres Forschungsprojektes hat dessen zentra- Ie Fragestellung "Wie wirkt der Computer auf den Menschen - und umge- kehrt" an Attraktivitiit eher noch gewonnen. Kaum ein Tag vergeht, an dem das Verhiiltnis oder - im Fachjargon - die "Schnittstelle Mensch-Computer" im weitesten Sinne nicht offentlich thematisiert wird. Dies geschieht vor allem bei Unfallen in Kernkraftwerken, bei Flugzeugabstiirzen, Tankerhavarien, Raketen- fehlstarts oder iihnlichen Ereignissen, bei denen Mikroelektronik involviert ist und hiiufig "menschIiehes Versagen" festgestellt wird und bei denen man in der Folge bestrebt ist, Fehler bei der "Schwachstelle Mensch" zu analysieren und zu beheben. anlii13lich spekta- Tatsiichlich ist das Thema Mensch-Computer aber nieht nur kuliirer Unfiille mit Gro.Btechnologien aktuell. Parallel zur offentlichen Diskus- sion dieser Gro.Bereignisse laufen Untersuchungen zum Beispiel fiber die ge- sundheitlichen Folgen von Bildschirmarbeit, fiber den Zusammenhang von Technologieentwieklung und Arbeitslosigkeit, fiber die Chancen und Risiken computerunterstiitzten Planens, Konstruierens, Produzierens, Kontrollierens, Personalfiihrens. Weitere Topoi dieses Themenbereichs sind die geschlechts- spezifisch differenten Zu- und Umgangsweisen im Hinblick auf den Computer ("Gibt es einen weiblichen Programmierstil?"), schulisches Lernen am Compu- ter ("Ab welchem Lebensalter sollen Kinder mit und fUr Computer lernen?") und das Freizeitverhalten im Hinblick auf die neuen Medien.
