Las humanidades y la sociología, por supuesto que son expresiones de otro abordaje del estudio del ser humano en sus obras y conglomerados, también contribuyen a la considerar a la persona enferma e incluso su prevención. Una serie de contribuciones provienen del campo de la filosofía. Esta actúa como un censor, a la par que contribuyente a la consolidación del conocimiento. Ludwig Wittgenstein, filósofo eminente del "Circulo de Viena" criticaba por ejemplo, el que se pusiera al cerebro en el centro del estudio de la conciencia, a esto él le llamó "La falacia Mereológica". Un órgano no puede ser mas importante que el resto, así sea el que coordina todo Qué sería un cerebro son el corazón o los riñones? Cómo podría funcionar sin el páncreas y la secreción de insulina? En efecto la filosofía y con ella los biólogos evolucionistas, nos están aportando otras luces. Problemas como las adicciones, que se han atendido desde una perspectiva moral, deben atenderse desde una perspectiva política. Hay evidencias claras de que los políticos en el mundo neoliberal se han enriquecidos del trafico y consumo de drogas, y que además se han encargado de desarrollar terapias que funcionan como cortinas de humo. Legalizar las sustancias adictivas prohibidas, va a permitir que las empresas de los políticos prosperen en el terreno capitalista. Simplemente no se debe de penalizar el usuario sino al que los distribuidores. Así es como están las cosas del gran capital, "La caja chica" de gobiernos capitalistas ha sido el trafico de drogas y armas Y los pacientes? Son solo víctimas colaterales. AL cambiar los paradigmas en psiquiatría, se tienen las cosas por su nombre. Eso puede ayudar a desmitificarla y a entender que sucede. Quienes son realmente enfermos, quienes sin serlo, requieren de apoyo. El nuevo psiquiatra es mas que un médico, es un biólogo evolucionista, es una persona progresista, neurocientífico clínico, defensor de los derechos humanos y mas cosas, porque todo lo humano nos interesa.
