Photographic Coppertunity! is a 384 page book with over 600 photographs and newspaper accounts of law enforcement in Carthage and Jasper County, Missouri. Departments featured are the Carthage Police Department; the Jasper County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The time period covers 1955-1975. Covered are officer portraits, group pictures, traffic accidents, crime scenes, pictures of criminals of the day and much more. Carthage Press accounts supplement with added details to many of the pictures presented. It is a must have for the law enforcement fan, old-car fan and anyone that likes the old buildings and scenes depicted. If you grew up during this era in the Jasper County area, it is a must have.

About The Author

Barry Duncan is a lifelong resident of the Carthage, Missouri area. He was an officer of the Carthage Police Department from 1977-2009. He served in most every rank: reserve patrolman, patrolman, detective, sergeant, lieutenant and interim chief of police. Duncan grew up knowing or knowing of a vast majority of these Carthage officers and his career overlapped with many. Duncan holds a B.S.B.A and an M.B.A. from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas.
