We all have dreams. Some of us dream about being rich or famous. Some of us dream about taking time off from our everyday lives for a couple of years. Maybe to sail around the Caribbean. This book is about one family's dream to do just that - sail around the Caribbean. Parents Clay and Mary Catherine and their children Corrie, Missy, and Billy embark on the adventure of their lives when they explore the islands of the Caribbean and find treasure and encounter pirates. Enjoy their adventure with them!

In 1994 Wayne left the corporate world to start a charter yacht company - jolly mon sailing - in the Caribbean with his wife Deb. Like the family in this book, Wayne and Deb have sailed from island to island in the Caribbean. This is his second book about sailing in the Caribbean; his first was Caribbean Charter Captain, The Virgin Islands. Wayne grew up in Santa Clara, California, where he and Deb learned to sail on Monterey Bay. Moving to Southern California they enjoyed many wonderful sailing days in San Diego aboard their Catalina 36 - free spirit - with their dog Buffie. Today besides being a charter yacht broker Wayne is a substitute teacher in the Williamson County School District in Tennessee. A few of the schools are mentioned in this book. This book began by his telling a story about a family sailing around the Caribbean to his classes. The students loved the story and he decided to write a book about it. He hopes that this book inspires young readers to learn more about the Caribbean Islands and perhaps one day sail to them and explore them - like the Bryant family in this book does - discovering places very different than what the young readers are used to and perhaps even finding treasure. Wayne and Deb currently live in Brentwood, Tennessee, where they enjoy lazy days cruising Old Hickory Lake on the Cumberland River aboard their Carver 33 motor yacht, Miss Swanee. Wayne can be contacted at jmsailing@aol.com or jollymonsailing.com.
