Platinum Quest Synopsis An Important Development has been Sabotaged A Family's Future is to be Destroyed A Pristine Environment will be Trashed Lower Economic Standards are being Fostered A rich platinum deposit is being carefully developed by Ben de Bruin, his family, and a small tribe. The development is designed around a consideration for the people and for the ecology of an African wilderness. It is hamstrung by unexplained failures, incorrect technical advice, and underfunding. These difficulties are compounded by a failure of high technology and critical equipment. The partners are dragged toward physical and financial disaster. Great danger stalks. If Clare de Bruin can be stopped, in any way, from meeting with prospective financiers, Jack Anders, the temporary head of a corporate empire, GVN, will have won. A polished executive, Jack works, in the shadows, toward power and fortune. His efforts include a drive to defraud the heir to the GVN corporation. An influential consultant, Matthew Clement, and an associate, Rebecca Rosslynn, might be able to help Michael Anders, the heir to the GVN corporation, and Jack's other intended victims, the family, and the tribe. They, too, become a threat to Jack's maneuverings. The story moves forward, through the Botswanan bush, Vancouver, and South Africa. The character's efforts, faced with several twists, lead to a challenging conclusion.

Thomas Bagot, PhD (MGSM), MEngSc (UNSW), BSc (UNISA), NDT (UNISA), has worked as an operator, a manager, an engineer, and in management and engineering consulting in Southern Africa, Canada, and Australia. He is married with five children and lives in Sydney, Australia. His interest in writing developed from a wish to develop a field of literature that shows the industrial society and its changes in a real light. One that will lead to better lifestyles for all concerned; together with a lifetime wish to write a book, and, a frustration with finding books he liked himself. A million books out there and nothing to read seemed to indicate a gap. Other books: Fiction: Out of a Southern African Furnace Nonfiction: Beyond TQM and TPM: Plant Performance Management
