After losing her best friend and platonic soulmate, Eli, seventeen year-old Rowan Walker escapes her grief by spending winter break in Charlotte with her Dad and his newest girlfriend, Tessa. Helping at Tessa's flower shop far from the pain of South Alabama, she doesn't expect the chaotic rhythm of the Bloom Room---or the Braswell brothers next door---to begin softening the edges of her sorrow.

Nineteen year-old Callum Braswell is steady, unreadable, and far too intriguing. Their paths cross in unexpected ways, stirring questions Rowan isn't ready to face as she fights to find pieces of Eli in Callum that simply aren't there. They're nothing alike, one a misunderstood philosopher and the other a blue-collar man of tradition. But Cal has his own ghosts, and grief certainly doesn't make room for easy answers.

As the weeks unfold through wilted petals, broken record players, and long walks home, Rowan must decide to either accept that healing has bloomed where she least expected it or ignore that the end of one love may not be the end of all.

McPherson, Reese: -

Reese McPherson was born in Scottsdale, Arizona but eventually found home in Madison, Georgia. Platonic is her second novel, following her debut, Every Hidden Secret. She gravitates towards characters with complex, often dark stories because they are the perfect canvas to show how God can turn a mess into a message, a truth reflected in her own spiritual journey. Reese is currently studying journalism at the University of Georgia with dreams of becoming a travel journalist and continuing to write novels that linger long after the last page. She writes in hopes that somewhere out there someone feels a little less alone in this big world by reading her work.
