Pollution Assessment for Sustainable Practices in Applied Sciences and Engineering provides an integrated reference for academics and professionals working on land, air, and water pollution. The book is divided into four parts; each of the first three covers a separate environment: Geosphere, Atmosphere, and Hydrosphere. The second part covers atmospheric assessment topics, including the dynamics of contaminant transport, impacts of global warming, indoor and outdoor techniques and practice. The third part is dedicated to the hydrosphere including both the marine and fresh water environments. Finally, part four examines emerging issues in pollution assessment, from nanomaterials to artificial intelligence. Howari, Fares: - Dr. Howari is an environmental scientist and engineer with a wide range of expertise. During the progressive of his career, he developed distinguished academic, and project coordination skills. He has valuable experience in natural resources management and exploration, strategic planning and administration, and also in creative leadership. He currently serve as a Dean of College of Natural and Health Sciences at Zayed University. He served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Applied Sciences and Mathematics at Abu Dhabi University and a Director of Abu Dhabi University Center of Excellence of Environment, Health and Safety. Dr Howari also served at the University of Texas, PB, Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy and the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin. Prof Howari worked also as an Associate Professor at United Arab Emirates University. Prior to this Dr. Howari worked at Texas A and M University where he worked as a research scientist on the development and application of computer models and remote sensing techniques to assess environmental contamination problems.

Mohamed is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, General Managing Director of EX Scientific Consultants, United Arab Emirates, and a Senior Scientific Advisor at Uberbinder Limited, Oxford, United Kingdom. He is a renowned expert in sustainable materials and geoenvironmental engineering. With decades of research and academic experience, he has contributed significantly to the field of geoengineering, focusing on the development and application of sustainable materials.
Paleologos, Evan K.: -
Prof. Evan K. Paleologos is Professor and Director of the graduate programs in Engineering Management and Project Management, College of Engineering, Abu Dhabi University (ADU), United Arab Emirates (UAE). He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. from New York University (NYU), NY, and a Ph.D. in Groundwater Hydrology from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Az. His expertise lies in geo-environmental engineering, risk analysis, and in water resources and waste management. He is the author of 5 books on geo-environmental engineering and environmental risk analysis published by Elsevier, McGraw-Hill, and the Geological Society of America (GSA), and of over 140 scientific papers. Recently, one of his papers received the "Environmental Geotechnics Prize 2023" by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). His career includes working for the US high-level nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, NV, being a tenured professor at the University of South Carolina (USC), subsequently at the Technical University of Crete (TUC), Greece, and currently at ADU in the UAE. He has founded two research centers, the USC Center for Water Research and Policy, and the ADU Center of Excellence on Sustainable Built Environment. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors in USA, which included the South Carolina State's "Researchers of Carolina," and the USC's "Initializer," and "USC President" awards. In Greece, concurrently with being a faculty at TUC he had served as Science Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and as Deputy Chairman of the board of the Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Co (EYDAP). He has been Associate Editor of three international journals.
